We offer a live, online pre-licensing course led by a certified instructor, open to all learner permit holders, including those under 18! Our NYS DMV-approved course is delivered via Zoom, and successful completion provides you with a DMV MV-278 certificate.
Our pre-licensing course, also known as the 5-Hour Course, is fully licensed by the NYS DMV. To enroll, you’ll need a NYS photo learner permit or an interim permit along with a NYS non-driver ID. After completing the course, we will mail your MV-278 certificate to you, which you’ll need to schedule a road test. We offer classes every Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, and Saturday.
In New York, all driver’s license applicants must complete a pre-licensing course after receiving their photo learner permit in the mail. This course is the second of three steps required to get a driver’s license in NYS. Since April 2018, only a photo learner permit or an interim permit with a NYS non-driver ID is accepted for attending the course.
This mandatory 5-Hour Course, held via Zoom, includes instructional videos and a lecture with no test at the end. It covers essential topics like road rules, the dangers of drinking and driving, seat belt importance, and safe driving practices. The MV-278 certificate you receive is valid for one year, during which you can schedule your DMV road test.
